StrikePrice Privacy Policy
StrikePrice helps users track Costco purchases and identify possible price-adjustment opportunities. StrikePrice is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Costco Wholesale. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, how it is linked to your account, and how you can delete it.
Information We Use
- Account details such as email address, display name, provider IDs, and photo URL when available.
- Receipt images you upload and the extracted receipt data used for price tracking.
- Tracked item records, manually watched Notify item numbers, claimable alerts, Notify discount alerts, and warehouse deal catalog data needed to monitor price-match eligibility.
How We Use Information
- To authenticate your account with Apple or Google.
- To process uploaded receipts and extract item, price, and membership details.
- To compare your purchases against Costco warehouse and online deals refreshed daily.
- To notify you in-app, by email, and by push notification when a tracked item may qualify for a price adjustment.
- To monitor manually watched Costco item numbers and notify you once when a discount window appears.
Consent
Before sign-in, StrikePrice asks you to accept the Privacy Policy and consent to receipt processing, account storage, and claim alerts. You should only upload receipts and screenshots that you are authorized to use.
Permissions
- Camera access is used to capture receipt photos.
- Photo Library access is used to upload receipt screenshots you choose.
- Sign in with Apple and Google are used to save your profile, tracked purchases, and alerts.
- Push notifications are used only after explicit iOS permission for price-match alerts, Notify discount alerts, and reminder alerts.
Receipt Processing
Receipts can contain personal and purchase information. Uploaded receipts are processed to extract item and price-match data so purchases can be tracked against Costco savings and your claimable opportunities can be calculated.
AI Assistance
StrikePrice uses Gemini to help process receipt uploads. AI tools also helped with supported parts of the app development process. Alerts are estimates and should be verified directly with Costco before relying on them.
Retention and Deletion
- Tracked items are monitored during the 30-day price-match window and expired unclaimed items are removed automatically after expiry during nightly refresh.
- Notify item watches are kept until you remove them or delete your account. Notify discount messages are kept until the deal expires or 20 days, whichever is earlier.
- If you choose Delete Account in the app, your profile, tracked items, Notify watches, and in-app alerts are permanently deleted.
Sharing
We use Google Cloud, Firebase, Gemini processing, and email infrastructure to operate the app. We do not sell your personal data.
Linked Data
Your account profile, tracked purchases, notifications, and email alerts are linked to your authenticated user account so the app can provide personalized tracking and support.
